Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Leeds is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee electrical building services installations on a range of commercial and residential projects. You will manage day‑to‑day site activities, ensure safety, quality and timetables, and coordinate labour and subcontractors.

The role requires reading electrical drawings, supervising installation of power, lighting, containment and fire alarm systems, and maintaining strong liaison with main contractors and consultants.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing electrical site activities on commercial and residential projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification preferred.
• CSCS card appropriate to role is desirable.
• Current electrical regulations knowledge; testing experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve technical issues, installation clashes and programme delays.
• Oversee electrical testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable regulations and project specifications.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee electrical building services installations across a range of commercial and residential projects in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring electrical works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality, while maintaining programme deadlines and coordinating labour and subcontractors.

Projects may include commercial offices, residential developments, apartments, high-end residential schemes and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all electrical installation activities on site.

• Oversee the installation of power, lighting, emergency lighting, containment, fire alarm systems, data and associated electrical services.

• Coordinate electrical subcontractors, site operatives and specialist trades.

• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with project drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

• Monitor daily site progress and report updates to the Project Manager.

• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, structural and other building services contractors.

• Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

• Carry out regular quality inspections and ensure installations meet required standards.

• Manage site materials, deliveries, labour allocation and subcontractor productivity.

• Attend site meetings and liaise with main contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.

• Identify and resolve technical issues, installation clashes and programme delays.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager within the building services industry.

• Experience working on commercial and/or residential construction projects.

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, including power, lighting, emergency lighting, containment and fire alarm systems.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and coordinated service layouts.

• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on site.

• Good understanding of health and safety requirements and construction site procedures.

• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

• SMSTS or SSSTS certification preferred, depending on project requirements.

• Relevant electrical qualifications and a valid CSCS card appropriate to the role are desirable or required, depending on site requirements.

• Current electrical regulations knowledge; inspection and testing experience is advantageous.
