Job summary

DATS Recruitment Ltd seeks a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer near Wigan to support the Maintenance Manager, lead a team of technicians, and drive maintenance activity across production. Role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:30, with overtime paid at time and a half.

Qualifications include COMPEX and 18th Edition, plus eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship. The successful candidate will oversee safety, develop preventative plans and deliver continuous improvement within a chemical

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing.
• Took apprenticeship pathway in Electrical/Mechanical.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments.
• Committed to safety and upholding high work standards.
• Chemical sector experience would be beneficial (not mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Maintenance Manager in directing day-to-day activities.
• Supervise technicians and manage projects from concept to delivery.
• Promote and input into the CMMS with detailed inputs by all team members.
• deputise for the Maintenance Manager as required.
• Monitor equipment condition and report abnormalities and risks.
• Set clear priorities and ensure resources focus on preventative maintenance.
