Job summary

Platform Housing Group is seeking a Lead Engineer – Electrical for Platform Property Care in Leicestershire. The role blends hands-on electrical repairs, installations and testing with mentoring and guiding junior colleagues to uphold standards.

You’ll act as the technical lead, drive compliance, quality and safety while supporting apprentices and teams across our property care operations. A valid UK driving licence and DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 with City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• Hold City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent for Inspection and Testing.
• AM2 and 18th Edition regulations.
• DBS check and full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, testing, inspection and maintenance in homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection to completion with excellent customer service.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues and apprentices.
• Sign off colleagues against multi-skill framework and support EPA
• Promote consistent trade standards across Platform Property Care.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to support training initiatives.
• Conduct trade audits, reviews and quality assessments to ensure high standards.
• Serve as technical expert and escalation point for trade queries.
• Monitor industry developments, legislation, and technology to drive improvement.
