Job summary

Platform Property Care, part of Platform Housing Group, is seeking a Lead Engineer - Electrical to lead electrical services in Derbyshire. The role combines hands-on repairs and testing with coaching colleagues and apprentices, shaping standards and improving service quality.

You will be the technical lead, supporting teams, conducting audits and ensuring health and safety compliance while staying abreast of regulatory changes and new technologies.

Qualifications

• Completed an Electrical apprenticeship or hold NVQ Level 3 and City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Commissioning and Certification.
• City & Guilds 2391, or equivalent qualification in Inspection and Testing.
• AM2 and 18th Edition regulation are desirable.
• Sound experience in delivering a range of electrical works in domestic settings.
• Full valid UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of electrical repairs, testing, inspection and maintenance in homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection through to completion with excellent customer service.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues and apprentices.
• Sign off colleagues against multi-skill framework and support EPA processes.
• Promote standard trade practices across Platform Property Care and support training initiatives.
• Act as technical expert and escalation point for trade queries.
• Monitor industry developments to drive continuous improvement.
