Job summary

Platform Housing Group is seeking a Lead Engineer – Electrical in Derbyshire to lead repairs, installations and testing while coaching colleagues and supporting apprentices. You will drive standards, ensure compliance and shape the trade workforce across Platform Property Care.

The role covers Matlock, Chesterfield and the Derbyshire Dales with a mobile field-based schedule and a valid UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

Electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 and City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Commissioning and Certification.
City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent in Inspection and Testing.
AM2 and 18th Edition regulation.
Additional trade qualifications and Unvented Hot Water are advantageous.
JIB Approved Electrician card desirable; valid UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

Carry out a wide range of electrical repairs, testing, inspection and maintenance in customers' homes and communal areas.
Manage jobs from inspection to completion with excellent customer service.
Coach, mentor and develop colleagues; support apprentices through End Point Assessments.
Assess and sign off colleagues against multi-skill framework; promote best practice.
Work with Learning & Development to support training and upskilling initiatives.
Conduct trade audits, reviews and quality assessments for compliance and standards.
Act as technical expert and escalation point for trade queries.
Monitor industry developments, legislation, and emerging technologies for continuous improvement.
