Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the railway industry required.
  • Experience in CEM/CRE/DPE roles and managing electrical services design.
  • Knowledge of British and Rail Standards including Network Rail, HS2, TfL.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineers, overseeing electrical designs from feasibility to As Built.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure design assurance.
  • Mentor staff in CRE roles and promote a 'get it right first time' culture.

Job description

As an Associate / Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be a senior team member supporting the Associate Director leading the MEPHFC team. Your responsibilities include leading and managing engineers, delivering electrical designs, and possibly assuming a CEM or CRE role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking the CEM and/or CRE role
  • Deputising for the Associate Director as needed
  • Developing designs from feasibility to As Built
  • Conducting design reviews and ensuring design assurance
  • Growing the team and enhancing technical capabilities
  • Leading and managing a team of engineers
  • Mentoring in CRE roles and discipline training
  • Fostering a 'get it right first time' culture
  • Producing progress reports
  • Presenting to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Membership in an engineering institute and Professional Registration with the Engineering Council
  • Experience in CEM/CRE/DPE roles
  • Experience managing projects per NR-L2-RSE-02009
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the railway industry
  • Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
  • Knowledge of British Standards, Rail Standards (Network Rail, HS2, TfL)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in engineering software (Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux, Relux)
  • Understanding procurement activities
