Job summary

Smart is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee the day shift on a tenant contract at Tottenham Court Road, London. The role runs Monday to Friday with split shifts 7am-4pm and 1pm-10pm, focusing on planned preventive maintenance and reactive works across building systems.

You will supervise routine PPM tasks, drive improvements, ensure swift fault rectification, and manage spares and timing for remedial actions, reporting to site management within a facilities environment.

Qualifications

• Formally trained in City and Guilds Electrical Installations Level 3 or the equivalent NVQ.
• Experience supervising electrical/maintenance teams is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the day shift carrying out planned preventive maintenance and reactive works to building systems within contracted area of responsibility.
• Ensure routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.
• Ensure reactive tasks are completed promptly; proactively identify areas for improvements and manage concessionary stores and fabric items.
• Ensure plant faults are swiftly remedied to keep plant in serviceable order; coordinate spare parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.

Purpose:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
• Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items.
• Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
• Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.

Requirements:

• Formally trained in City and Guilds Electrical Installations level 3 or the equivalent NVQ.
