Job summary

Baker Hughes seeks a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical/electronic systems for industrial and energy applications. You will own engineering activities from concept to delivery, coordinating with internal stakeholders, customers and partners across the UK, Poland and Vietnam.

Qualifications

• Leadership in decision-making, mentoring, and coordinating engineering delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Controls Engineering with strong theory foundation.
• Experience with electrical/electronic design, AC/DC systems, analogue/digital electronics and component selection.
• Fluent English; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to create and interpret schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams and product documentation.
• Knowledge of IEC, CE and other international standards plus risk, EHS and QA processes.
• EMC Testing experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, PLM, Creo, Altium preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, run design reviews, mentor engineers and act as a technical contact for projects.
• Deliver electrical/electronic designs, analyses and calculations per standards.
• Produce and maintain engineering documentation (design specs, schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams, BOMs).
• Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality engineering packages with safety/compliance.
• Respond to technical queries and support workshop/offshore activities and investigations.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design issues.
• Support development of power, control, communication and electronic/PCBA systems.
• Support on-site and off-site test set-ups, testing and fault investigations.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and promote best engineering practice.
