Job summary
Baker Hughes is seeking a Controls Applications Engineer to design and propose comprehensive Power Management System solutions, collaborating with commercial, tendering, engineering and product teams. You will translate customer requirements into robust technical specifications and lifecycle upgrade plans.
Key activities include developing proposals, delivering technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while supporting risk management and product development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience developing technical proposals for industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of Modbus, TCP/IP, and cybersecurity basics.
- Ability to interpret power system designs and generator controls.
- Familiarity with IEC 61850 standards (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical focal point during tendering for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop full lifecycle upgrade, retrofit, and replacement solutions for control systems.
- Provide technical support from concept through proposal and handover.
- Create technical solutions that satisfy CTQ requirements.
- Support risk mitigation, product development, lifecycle, and obsolescence planning.
- Produce documentation: functional specs, system diagrams, I/O schedules, equipment lists.
