Job summary

Leicestershire County Council’s Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service is expanding its Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Educational Psychologist to contribute strategic direction and drive improvements within a vibrant service.

The post combines leadership, people management and applied psychology, with line management of EPs and collaboration with the LA, East Midlands region and partners. Flexible working options are under consideration.

Qualifications

• Good honours degree in Psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society requirements for graduate basis for registration.
• Professional postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology and HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Significant experience as an Educational Psychologist in an LA environment, with expertise across child, group, and systems levels.
• Proven leadership experience, including project management and driving change for positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead on key areas of service development and delivery, including SEND reforms work.
• Line manage and supervise Educational Psychologists, acting as a leader and mentor.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and continuous service improvement.
• Balance a caseload of applied work with leadership, strategic projects and systems-level activity.
