Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Specialist Educational Psychologist to join our SEND and Inclusion Support Service in County Durham. You will shape practice, contribute to SEND reforms, and provide supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Advisory Inclusion Teachers.

The role focuses on cognition and learning, with involvement in MeLSA rollout, strategic development, and delivering Educational Psychology support to schools within a locality. Hybrid working is available where applicable.

Qualifications

• A first degree in Psychology and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
• Appropriate experience working as an Educational Psychologist.
• Be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Own transport or mobility is essential to travel around the Local Authority.

Responsibilities

• Shape and develop practice across the SEND and Inclusion Support Service.
• Provide supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Advisory Inclusion Teachers.
• Contribute to EHC needs assessments and local authority priorities.
• Lead on cognition and learning initiatives and MeLSA rollout.
