Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an experienced Specialist Educational Psychologist to join its SEND and Inclusion Support Service. You will shape practice across the service, influence strategic developments, and contribute to the implementation of SEND Reforms and the Experts at Hand offer.

You will work with the Cognition and Learning multi-disciplinary team to develop capacity in schools, support executive functioning, supervise Assistant Psychologists and Advisory Inclusion Teachers, and

Qualifications

• A first degree in Psychology and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
• Appropriate experience working as an Educational Psychologist.
• Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Own transport or mobility to travel around the Local Authority.

Responsibilities

• Shape and develop practice across the SEND and Inclusion Support Service.
• Contribute to SEND reforms and strategic developments promoting inclusion.
• Support development of cognition and learning priorities with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Advisory Inclusion Teachers.
• Deliver Educational Psychology support to schools within a locality and contribute to EHC assessments.
