Job summary

Kandou AI in Reading, UK (and other locations) seeks an experienced EDA/CAD Engineer to own and optimize the mixed‑signal design toolchain. You will manage cross‑functional CAD environments, mentor engineers, and drive advanced workflow automation for high‑precision chip design.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in EDA/CAD, hands‑on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys, and Calibre, plus strong scripting and data management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 10+ years of EDA/CAD engineering supporting analog and digital IC design.
• Proven experience with advanced technology nodes and related PDKs.
• Hands-on expertise with Cadence Virtuoso, ADE, Spectre/APS/AFS, and Siemens Calibre/AFS.
• Experience with tool licensing, revision control, and release management.
• Deep data management with Git and Cliosoft for multi‑project flow setup.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain an integrated analog/digital EDA environment with Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens Calibre/AFS.
• Develop, automate, and validate CAD flows for simulation, physical verification, extraction, and reliability analysis.
• Provide methodology support to design engineers; troubleshoot tool issues; optimize flows for performance and quality.
• Serve as primary technical contact with EDA vendors; coordinate bug fixes and evaluate new versions/features.
• Install and support PDKs for advanced technology nodes; ensure deployment and qualification.
• Create and maintain documentation, training materials, and scripts for tool usage.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement productivity and quality improvements.
