Kandou AI in Cambridge/Reading, UK is seeking a Firmware Lead to drive real‑time embedded firmware for high‑speed AI hardware. You will write and review C/C++ code, debug firmware‑hardware interactions, and mentor engineers while supporting pre‑ and post‑silicon bring‑up across RISC‑V/ARM platforms.

You will own low‑level drivers, system tests, and CI workflows, turning architecture into production code and ensuring robust delivery in a coding‑heavy leadership role.

Formación

• 8+ years of real‑time firmware development in C/C++.
• Experience leading firmware modules or small teams.
• Experience with retimer/PHY/ECI or similar high‑speed hardware.
• RTOS experience (Zephyr/FreeRTOS) and bare‑metal/RTOS projects.
• Strong debugging across firmware, RTL, and hardware.

Responsabilidades

• Lead implementation and delivery of real‑time embedded firmware for retimer silicon.
• Hands‑on C/C++ contributor; guide boot/configuration/calibration/state machines.
• Translate architecture into module designs, APIs, and constraints.
• Own low‑level drivers (SPI, I2C/SMBus, I3C, MCTP) and CMIS integration.
• Drive pre‑silicon brings‑up, post‑silicon verification, and issue isolation.
• Set coding standards, build/unit tests, CI, and reproducible workflows.
• Plan roadmaps, estimate work, and mentor firmware engineers.
