Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking a Lead Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery leadership team. You will observe children, coach colleagues, and help identify additional needs early, ensuring inclusive practice and high standards across rooms.

You’ll work alongside practitioners, spend time with children, and deputise for the Nursery Manager when required, contributing to safeguarding and SEND support within a welcoming, nature-rich setting.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold a Level 5 Early Years qualification with experience in a nursery.
• Level 3 Early Years qualification considered with strong background in practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice across the nursery and support children with additional needs.
• Observe children, coach colleagues and help develop appropriate support plans.
• Coordinate referrals and next steps for specialist support when required.
• Support safeguarding and promote high standards of care across rooms.
• Deputise for the Nursery Manager when needed and work alongside practitioners.
