Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking a Lead Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery leadership team. You’ll be out front in coaching colleagues, observing children and helping ensure the needs of every child are identified and supported.

You’ll work across the nursery, spend time with children in rooms and outdoors, and deputise for the Nursery Manager when required. This is a role that prioritises inclusion and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Early Years or Childcare qualification preferred.
• Experience with SEND, safeguarding and inclusion.
• Experience leading and coaching nursery staff.
• Willingness to develop and adapt practice across the setting.
• Ability to work across rooms and with families.

Responsibilities

• Lead across the nursery to strengthen practice and identify additional needs.
• Coach colleagues and model strong Early Years practice.
• Support safeguarding and health and safety.
• Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required.
• Spend time directly with children in rooms and outdoor spaces.
