Job summary

Lucion Delta-Simons is seeking a Principal or Associate Drainage Engineer to lead and grow our drainage service line within the Water Team. You will guide projects from concept to delivery, mentor colleagues, and deliver innovative drainage solutions for a diverse client base.

The role involves technical leadership, project management and business development, with opportunities to shape strategy and engage with public and private sector clients across the UK.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in drainage engineering or consultancy.
• Experience with SuDS design from concept to detailed design.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage projects with clients and statutory consultees.
• Proficiency with drainage design software and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from inception to completion, including fee proposals and tenders.
• Develop Drainage Strategies to support planning applications across development projects.
• Mentor team members in drainage design, SuDS, and drainage plans.
• Contribute to growth and development of drainage services within the team.
• Deliver complex surface water and foul drainage designs in line with guidance and standards.
• Provide technical assurance on reports, drawings and calculations.
• Build long-term relationships with clients and colleagues across disciplines.
• Represent Lucion Delta-Simons through networking and business development activities.
