JDR - Just Dynamic Recruitment is seeking a Lead Drainage Engineer to join a Cardiff-based team. You will lead a two-person crew, perform CCTV surveys, operate jetting gear, and ensure safe, compliant drainage works. You will also produce reports and drawings to client specifications.

The role requires a strong leader with experience in drainage, CSCS Green, and HWPJ certification. A full UK driving licence is essential and a company vehicle is provided where offered.

Lead Drainage Engineer

Location: Cardiff
Salary: £ 15.50 to £16.50 basic, to £33ph OT (time and a half for OT and Saturday, double time for Sunday) (basic can be negotiable dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Lead Drainage Engineer to join our clients team based from Cardiff. You will work as part of a 3-person van team undertaking a variety of drainage and specialist works, including full CCTV surveys, high-pressure water jetting, confined space operations, and pipe rehabilitation projects.

As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality service to clients while leading on-site operations and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to professional standards. You will also be responsible for producing drainage reports, drawings, and detailed job sheets/notes.

This role is ideal for a motivated and technically competent engineer who enjoys a hands-on environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a two-person team on drainage and specialist projects

Experience Required

Essential

• Full clean UK driving licence
• Proven experience within the drainage industry
• CSCS card (Green)
• High Pressure Water Jetting certification
• Strong experience in CCTV drainage surveying and coding
• Confined space training and practical experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to lead and work effectively within a small team
• Professional and client-focused approach

Desirable

• OS19 certification
• PTS/COSS
• Highways passport
• Experience in pipe rehabilitation techniques
• Additional drainage industry accreditations or certifications
• Experience working within commercial, rail, construction, or industrial sectors
