Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a Senior Diagnostic Project Engineer to lead diagnostic projects, create innovative design solutions, and manage risk from concept to close-out.

The role is based at Culham, Oxfordshire, with on-site work three days a week and flexible working options. BPSS clearance will be required, and the team collaborates across domestic and international partners within the Plasma Science & Operations Division.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
• Experience creating specifications and approving technical documents.
• Experience with modern assembly and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in project planning including resource and cost profiling.

Responsibilities

• Define project requirements, plans, risk registers, and deliverables.
• Coordinate project team to deliver on-time, on-budget with quality.
• Chair design reviews and report project status and issues.
• Produce technical documentation and ensure adherence to standards and QA.
• Manage procurement and supplier visits to ensure compliance.
• Supervise installation activities and ensure safety compliance.
