Job summary

Aker Systems is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer for a remote UK-based role. You will lead secure cloud environments hosting data and analytics platforms for public and private sector clients, building automated deployments with IaC and CI/CD.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in DevOps, strong Kubernetes/Terraform experience, and a track record of designing scalable cloud solutions using AWS and related tools. This role offers a senior level path with collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of DevOps experience.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build, test and deploy cloud-based infrastructure and applications using CI/CD and IaC.
• Contribute to the coding of custom test automation frameworks.
• Perform script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations.
• Assist with setup/maintenance of environments for both manual and automated testing.
• Assist in production support through investigation and resolution of incidents.
• Perform ongoing routine application maintenance tasks.
• Assist in conducting gap analysis and identifying feasible alternatives.
• Participate in contingency planning, including backup and restore procedures.
• Document functions and changes to modules and test activities/results.
• Mentor and drive the team to deliver to customers' requirements.
