The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Digital Debt Services in Leeds is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive modern cloud-enabled infrastructure. You will build a DevOps culture, lead Senior DevOps Engineers, and collaborate with agile teams to deliver resilient services that protect the most vulnerable in society.

You'll champion engineering standards, own infrastructure ownership across software and platform teams, mentor engineers, and shape recruitment strategies to scale

We're looking for a driven and passionate person to be part of delivering digital services to people that need help during the difficult times of their lives. You will act as a DevOps leader, building a DevOps culture along with line management responsibility of Senior DevOps Engineers. You will lead existing DevOps Engineers while increasing capability, standards and practices across the organisation. As a Lead DevOps Engineer you will contribute to our community ensuring that DWP and our DevOps practices evolve in line with technology advances.,

Please note: As part of the role, you may be required to travel regularly to the other digital hubs. The frequency of this will be discussed further should you be successful.

You will join DWP Digital's Debt Services Department working in agile multidisciplinary teams to deliver modern, Azure cloud based Debt Management and Compensation Recovery systems. Our systems recover approximately £3 billion per annum whilst protecting the most vulnerable in our society. We use technologies like Gitlab, Terraform, Argo, Helm to manage a wide variety of infrastructure including Azure Service Bus, Azure Kubernetes Service, Postgres, MongoDB and more. Software applications are designed as microservices in Java and Node.js.
