Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking an experienced OHL Design Engineer to lead a team of Design Engineers, delivering engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed design for 132kV, 275kV & 400kV transmission projects.

You will use PLS-CADD, develop specifications, and drive safety, regulatory compliance, and project budgets. A engineering degree and progression toward professional membership are required, with travel to support project delivery.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent experience; professional Institution membership progress.
Experience using PLS-CADD and delivering overhead line / transmission design projects.
Ability to lead teams and coordinate across departments and clients.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a group of Design Engineers for OHL projects.
Provide technical input on pre-contract design and project delivery.
Assess engineering documentation, budgets, and schedules for transmission schemes.
Define OHL requirements for technical specifications and approvals.
Support tender assessments and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
