Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking a Permanent Hybrid Engineer to lead the technical design of overhead line systems for 132kV and above. You will manage feasibility through detailed engineering, ensuring safety, quality and environmental compliance across projects in Scotland.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and contribute to tender assessments while developing high-value solutions using PLS-CADD and related OHL software.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or HND/HNC with equivalent experience.
• Experience in PLS-CADD and other OHL software.
• Proven ability to deliver engineering solutions for high value and complex Transmission OHL projects.
• Ability to communicate with and influence Senior Managers and write clear reports on technical subjects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical aspects of OHL systems and related equipment across pre-contract and design stages.
• Develop and deliver engineering specifications and designs; ensure compliance with current legislation and requirements.
• Assess engineering documentation, feasibility and client requirements; support budget preparation and program planning.
• Prepare and review OHL drawings and specifications for construction, procurement and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during tender submissions and project delivery; supervise and develop junior staff.
