Job summary
ACS Performance is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead a design and CAD team for bespoke sheet metal fabrication and architectural metalwork projects in Cradley Heath.
You will oversee designs from concept through manufacture and installation, while staying hands-on and guiding engineers on site and in workshop. The role offers on-site working with opportunities to develop a team and deliver engineering solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience designing complex sheet metal fabrications or architectural metalwork.
- Strong Autodesk Inventor 3D modelling experience.
- Strong AutoCAD 2D drawing experience.
- Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Experience supervising CAD/drawing office teams.
- Ability to translate designs into manufacture and installation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of complex sheet metal fabrications and architectural metalwork.
- Mentor Designers and CAD Operators and manage workload.
- Ensure drawings meet project deadlines and manufacturing constraints.
- Produce manufacturing drawings with flat-pattern development.
- Translate 3D models into CNC, laser and punch data.
- Liaise with customers, production teams and on-site teams.
