Job summary

Walker & Sloan, a leading contractor, seek an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process on major industrial, logistics and commercial projects across London and the Home Counties. Based in Watford, you will drive design coordination, ensure on-program delivery and develop buildable, compliant solutions with multidisciplinary teams.

You will collaborate with clients, consultants and operations, drive value engineering and continuous improvement, and contribute to innovation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams on complex design & build projects.
• Strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness & proactive design coordination.
• Experience with planning conditions, Building Regulations, and design reviews is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring on-program delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and operational teams.
• Manage design programmes and chair technical workshops.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
