Job summary

The Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer in Nottingham to shape how we receive and use information across our agency. You will provide technical leadership for the Microsoft Fabric and OneLake data platform, enabling trusted analytics, reporting and AI.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, delivery teams and suppliers, set engineering standards, and mentor Senior Data Engineers to build internal capability.

Qualifications

• Lead data platform engineering experience.
• Experience building and governing data platforms.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, setting direction and ensuring security, scalability and reliability.
• Establish engineering practices, CI/CD, DataOps and IaC to improve quality and reduce debt.
• Define data movement between systems (Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Azure, analytics).
• Enable trusted analytics, AI and ML in production.
• Embed governance and security standards for data quality and access.
• Improve operational reliability and cost efficiency with monitoring and FinOps collaboration.
• Lead and develop Senior Data Engineers and Data Engineers.
