Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Leeds is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to shape how we receive and use information across the agency. You will provide technical leadership for our data platform based on Microsoft Fabric and OneLake.

The role offers flexibility with options for full-time, part-time, job share, and flexible working. You will set engineering standards, lead a team of data engineers and collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, delivery teams and suppliers to deliver

Qualifications

• Lead the development of Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, setting direction and ensuring secure, scalable, resilient platforms.
• Establish engineering practices with reusable components, automated testing, DataOps, CI/CD, and IaC to improve quality.
• Define data flows between Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Azure and analytics platforms using batch, real-time, and event-driven integration.
• Enable trusted analytics, reporting, AI & ML; work with data, AI and delivery teams to production.
• Embed governance and security; set standards for data quality, lineage, metadata and access.
• Improve reliability and cost efficiency with AIOps, App Support and FinOps; monitor and manage platform consumption.
• Lead and develop Data Engineers; mentor, recruit and plan succession.
