National Grid is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to steer data product engineering for Electricity Transmission. Based in Warwick with flexible hybrid options, you will own pipelines, standards, and governance to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions for BI and analytics.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and shape the data architecture while ensuring data quality and business value across the estate.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data engineering teams or workstreams and setting technical direction.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to identify data products that improve business performance.
• Experience in data mining/large datasets and ETL coding for data quality rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and delivery of data products (pipelines) for Electricity Transmission.
• Set and maintain engineering standards including patterns, reviews, testing, and deployment practices.
• Mentor and develop data engineers across the team and community.
• Own data product lifecycle and drive constant improvement and business value.
• Collaborate with architects to shape target-state data architecture and governance.
