Job summary

Liverpool FC is seeking an Associate, Lead Data Engineer to deliver and evolve the club's enterprise data platform and data warehouse. You will lead data engineering across AWS services, design scalable pipelines, and mentor offshore teams, ensuring quality and reliability.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to drive data-driven decision making, implement governance, and extend analytics capabilities across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in senior data engineering, data warehousing, and ETL development.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, transformation, quality management, and cloud-based data engineering platforms.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with offshore, nearshore, or third-party teams.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, challenge design decisions, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, supportable, and high quality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for project and delivery management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, maintain, and enhance the club's data platform and data warehouse services.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and data platform services.
• Work with AWS technologies including S3, Lambda, Fargate, Glue, and Redshift, alongside SQL and Python.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership to offshore and nearshore delivery teams.
