Job summary

Liverpool Football Club is seeking a Associate, Lead Data Engineer to own design and evolution of the club's enterprise data platform. You will lead data pipelines, ETL, and data models across AWS services, ensuring reliable analytics and operational insight.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in senior data engineering, warehousing, and ETL development.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, transformation, quality management, and cloud data platforms.
• Experience with software engineering best practices including version control, testing, and documentation.
• Agile experience and collaboration with offshore/nearshore/third-party teams.
• Ability to lead technically, challenge design decisions, and ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for project management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality data engineering solutions through design, development, testing, code review, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to offshore teams and ensure alignment with standards.
• Identify risks and drive improvements in data engineering practices, quality, and reliability.
• Contribute to data warehouse design and evolution and translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and data platform services.
• Work with AWS services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Fargate) and SQL/Python.
• Ensure reliable data ingestion, transformation, and reporting for analytics and operations.
• Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and production issues.
