National Highways is seeking a Lead Data Engineer within the Digital Services function. This hybrid role requires two days per week in the office at any National Highways location, delivering the Data as a Service roadmap and building enterprise data pipelines.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop data products and ensure reliable, cost-efficient data services across the transport network, enabling improved decision-making and safer journeys.

Formación

• Experience building and deploying data pipelines and data integration solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
• Experience analysing source systems and datasets to create reusable data assets for analytics and reporting.
• Experience with scripting CLI, Python and SQL on enterprise data platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and delivery ownership.
• Experience operating and improving production data pipelines and data products with monitoring and cost optimisation.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver the Data as a Service (DaaS) roadmap by onboarding enterprise data.
• Design, build and enhance data pipelines, integrations and reusable data assets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical needs and deliver trusted data products.
• Embed data governance, quality and metadata management across the data lifecycle.
• Support operation and continuous improvement of production data pipelines and platform capabilities.
• Promote data engineering best practices across the organisation.
