Job summary
Eligo Recruitment Ltd is supporting an international MEP consultancy in recruiting an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to lead data centre projects with a team. You will oversee feasibility studies, prepare fee bids, and develop mechanical specifications for controls and operating systems, while surveying existing installations and producing technical reports.
The role requires Chartered Engineer status, a recognised engineering degree, and strong leadership and presentation skills; hybrid
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (MCIBSE or MIEE) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSc/BEng) or equivalent HND/HNC with substantial experience.
- Extensive mechanical design experience across building types, ideally data centres or mission critical facilities.
- Contract and business law knowledge alongside BS standards and UK regulations.
- Leadership, mentoring and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Direct major data centre projects with team management attached.
- Run feasibility studies and prepare fee bids.
- Develop mechanical specifications for controls and operating systems.
- Survey existing installations and produce technical reports.
- Monitor project risk and performance.
- Front client and contractor meetings.
