Job summary

OSCHA SLINGS LTD in Scotland invites a Lead Cutting Room Specialist to take full ownership of the cutting room, combining skilled manual and machine cutting with accurate digital administration to support production targets.

You will manage complex jacquard textiles, optimize yield, maintain physical and digital logs in Google Sheets and internal databases, and uphold 5S, lean workflows, and safety in a tight-knit workshop near Edinburgh.

Qualifications

• Commercial cutting experience in a factory setting; operates electric knives and cutting machinery.
• Digital & admin accuracy with spreadsheets and log sheets.
• Strong eye for placing intricate jacquard designs and weave orientation.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy fabric rolls and moving stock.
• Proactive, methodical approach with ownership of workspace and time management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily fabric cutting to exact specifications using rotary, straight, and hand tools.
• Ensure precise alignment and placement of designs on jacquard textiles.
• Maintain cutting logs and update digital fabric data (rolls, GSM, batch codes).
• Monitor fabric roll stock and log yields to uphold zero-waste standards.
• Inspect fabrics for weave flaws and prepare accurate bundle labels.
• Uphold 5S, safety, and Lean workflows in a clean cutting bay.
• Plan cutting schedules and manage time to meet production targets.
