Job summary

DFS Furniture PLC is seeking a Fabric Cutter to operate cutting equipment and prepare fabric components in line with product specifications. The role supports production with skilled cutting, pattern matching, and material handling on a full-time, on-site basis at Wimsey Way, Somercotes.

The position offers a rotating shift pattern (morning/afternoon) and a structured growth path with performance-based pay.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating industrial cutting equipment and hand-cutting tools.
• Ability to read and interpret fabric patterns and align designs.
• Understanding of fabric types and how they behave during cutting.

Responsibilities

• Operate cutting machines and hand-cutting equipment to cut fabric components in line with product specifications.
• Produce accurate, high-quality cut materials while developing an understanding of quality standards.
• Support the timely movement of cut fabric to the sorting area to ensure smooth production flow.
• Build knowledge of product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Handle customer orders with care, ensuring materials are protected and processed correctly.
• Report any fabric quality issues or production concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Follow all Company Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and working practices.
• Help maintain a clean, tidy, and organised factory environment, ensuring walkways and work areas remain free from obstructions.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in training and development activities.
