Job description

Our lead cover supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that students have a high-quality learning experience when their usual teacher is away from school.

If you are passionate about supporting young people in our community and want to contribute to their bright futures, we would love to hear from you.

This role offers the opportunity to lead lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, primarily for KS3 and KS4 students, with occasional work at KS5. You’ll also have the chance to contribute more broadly across the Academy.

You will ensure high standards of lesson cover and are expected to eventually line manage a team of Cover Supervisors.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week, on a term-time only basis.

  • Supervise students in KS3, KS4, and occasionally KS5, working on pre-set activities in the absence of a teacher.
  • Be caring, supportive, and committed to achieving excellent results.
  • Foster strong relationships and believe in every young person’s potential.
  • Promote student well-being, providing guidance and support to inspire learning and progress.
  • Be approachable, professional, and able to build excellent relationships.
  • Be resilient, determined, and confident in engaging large groups of young people.
  • Be well-organized, tenacious, and good at time management.
