Chefs for Chefs are recruiting a hands-on Sous Chef for an independent country pub and restaurant in East Devon, near Fenny Bridges. You'll work closely with the Head Chef and owners to maintain high standards and develop seasonal dishes.

Offering £38,000–£40,000 base salary depending on experience, plus live-in accommodation or relocation assistance, and Sundays off. Join a supportive team with a strong focus on quality ingredients and inviting hospitality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen.
• Passion for high-quality country-pub food.
• Ability to lead and train kitchen staff.
• Calm and organised under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality country-pub food
• Lead the kitchen team during service
• Run busy services calmly and efficiently
• Support menu development and seasonal specials
• Manage food preparation, stock control and minimise waste
• Train and encourage junior team members
• Collaborate with Head Chef and owners
• Ensure pride in every plate leaving the kitchen
