Sous Chef Required - Live-in available up to £27,000 plus tips - holiday pay

We are looking for a well-seasoned Sous Chef to join a friendly and professional kitchen team focusing on local fresh produce and Best of British cuisine. The ideal candidate will have experience from a gastropub or busy country inn.

Setting

The client offers a quintessential country inn experience with oak beams, flint and brick walls, blackboards, open fireplaces, cosy seating, wooden and stone flooring, candlelit tables and a large garden overlooking the South Downs. The kitchen is fully equipped and well set out for smooth and busy services.

Role & Responsibilities

• Act as team motivator and all-out foodie.
• Prepare fresh dishes, following recipes and presentation specifications.
• Adhere to all food hygiene, safety standards and company policies.
• Manage team in absence of the head chef.
• Motivate and develop the existing brigade.
• Maintain a positive and productive environment.
• Adapt to fast-paced kitchens; Sunday service may run up to 240 covers.
• Transport availability required.
