Job summary

Henley Chase in Bury St Edmunds is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the main contractor delivering construction schemes around town. You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and quality in line with contract requirements.

You will lead site teams, subcontractors and clients, manage programmes and budgets, and report progress regularly. A strong leadership mindset and knowledge of H&S and compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction projects for a main contractor.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, programming and delivery.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from inception to handover.
• Develop and maintain project programmes with milestones.
• Coordinate site managers, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Monitor budgets, costs and commercial performance.
• Ensure works meet drawings, specs and contract requirements.
• Maintain health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor appointments and material needs.
• Identify and resolve delays, issues and risks.
• Attend client meetings and provide progress reports.
• Manage variations and project documentation.
• Oversee inspections, snagging, commissioning and handover.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
