Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead complex general construction projects in the North East. You will manage pre-construction through completion, overseeing refurbishment and new build schemes, with responsibility for safety, profitability, and programme delivery.

You will lead site teams, monitor budgets and quality, manage procurement, and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the general construction sector.
• Strong background delivering new build and refurbishment projects.
• Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
• Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Good understanding of construction programmes and project delivery.
• SMSTS, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
• Oversee both refurbishment and new build schemes.
• Lead and support Site Managers and project teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
• Monitor programmes, budgets, quality, and contractual obligations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Attend client meetings and provide regular project updates.
• Manage procurement, resource allocation, and subcontractor performance.
• Identify project risks and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
