Job summary

The Gym Group is seeking a Lead Commercial Analyst to drive strategic, data-driven decisions across Product, Retention and Commercial teams. This senior role partners closely with cross-functional leaders to design measurement frameworks, size initiatives, and guide actions that protect membership growth and profitability.

With hybrid working (3 days in Clapham Junction, 2 days remote), you will own end-to-end analytics projects, mentor analysts, and push for automation and AI-driven

Qualifications

  • Advanced SQL skills and the ability to independently extract and analyse complex datasets.
  • Experience leading analytical projects end-to-end in a commercial or consumer-facing environment.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate data into business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience designing measurement frameworks and evaluating business or product performance.
  • A proactive, curious approach - someone who spots opportunities, challenges assumptions and drives improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead payment performance reporting and identify opportunities to improve payment success and reduce member churn.
  • Deliver complex end-to-end analytical projects independently from problem definition to recommendation.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Product, Commercial, Marketing, Operations and Technology and influence business priorities.
  • Communicate findings clearly through data visualisation and storytelling tailored to senior, non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor analysts in the team, raising standards and methods across the function.
  • Identify opportunities to improve analytics through automation, new tools and AI.

Role: Lead Commercial Analyst. Location: Hybrid (3 days per week Clapham Junction, 2 days remote).

About the role

This is a senior analytics role with real influence - you will partner directly with our Product and Retention teams to shape strategic decisions, design how we measure success and identify the commercial opportunities that help us keep our members and grow the business.
