Job summary

Tata Steel UK is seeking a combustion systems expert to provide, maintain and develop engineering services for combustion systems in Area 1. You will assess unit capability, improve safety and efficiency, and manage projects from design to commissioning while ensuring adherence to Health and Safety standards.

The role requires a degree in engineering and knowledge of gas, air, electrical and instrumentation systems, with an understanding of process safety and functional safety.

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to degree level in engineering.
• Knowledge of gas, air, electrical & instrumentation systems.
• Understanding of Process Safety and Functional Safety.

Responsibilities

• Act as the combustion system expert for the manufacturing area; assess unit capability and improve safety and efficiency while reducing costs.
• Manage combustion system improvement projects from design to commissioning; ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards.
• Develop and manage combustion system management and reporting systems.
• Advise on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and QA/regulatory procedures for manufacturing areas.
• Identify training and development needs for on-site personnel in combustion systems.
• Provide technical input to monitoring and control of processes; ensure sampling/testing meets QA and external standards.
• Lead maintenance and testing of SIL-rated equipment.
• Act as focal point for combustion system projects, guidance, information and problem solving.
