Job summary

Rayburn: Precision Engineering in plastics and metals is seeking a CNC Lead Programmer for our on-site facility in Walsall. You will create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for milling operations, ensuring precision components meet specifications.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, setting parameters, selecting tooling, mentoring operators, and driving continuous improvement to reduce cycle times and improve quality on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Strong CNC programming and milling skills.
Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawings accurately.
Experience with CNC controls (Fanuc, HAAS, Heidenhain) and SOLIDWORKS/SOLIDCAM software.
Background in precision engineering/manufacturing, ideally plastics/metals; ISO 9001 familiarity preferred.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and organization.
Experience leading small teams on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

Create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for milling operations.
Interpret technical drawings and set machining parameters.
Select tooling and set up machines for production.
Collaborate with operators to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.
Troubleshoot programming and machining issues and improve cycle times.
Support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor and mentor colleagues.
