Job summary

Bupa, a leading UK health insurer and provider, is hiring a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to shape the platforms that support our digital services. You will lead design, build and evolution of cloud-based platforms, guiding technical direction and collaborating across engineering, security and operations to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

In this role you’ll mentor engineers, drive automation, monitor performance and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements while helping teams deliver

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure and automation.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Experience with deployment, monitoring and configuration tools.
• Knowledge of scripting/programming languages (Python/PowerShell).
• Understanding of security, reliability and performance in cloud environments.
• Clear communication with stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and evolution of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
• Set technical direction and support best practices for platform engineering.
• Ensure systems are secure, reliable and scalable.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement of platform services.
• Collaborate with engineering, security and operations teams.
• Support delivery of applications by providing robust platform capabilities.
• Monitor performance and respond to incidents to maintain service quality.
• Coach and support other engineers, sharing knowledge.
• Ensure solutions align with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
