Job summary

Bupa is recruiting for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to shape and evolve our cloud platforms across UK offices, including London, Staines, Salford Quays or Leeds. You will lead design, build and operation of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and drive automation, supporting multiple teams delivering healthcare digital services.

The role requires leadership, strong cloud expertise (Azure/AWS/GCP), and collaboration with engineering, security and operations.

Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
Expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure and automation.
Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
Proficient with deployment, monitoring and configuration tools.
Knowledge of scripting or programming (e.g. Python, PowerShell).
Understanding of security, reliability and performance in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, build and evolution of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
Set technical direction and support best practices for platform engineering.
Ensure systems are secure, reliable and scalable.
Drive automation and continuous improvement of platform services.
Collaborate with engineering, security and operations teams.
Support the delivery of applications by providing robust platform capabilities.
Monitor performance and respond to incidents to maintain service quality.
Coach and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and guidance.
Ensure solutions align with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
