Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Clinical Co‑Ordinator in Children’s Palliative Care and Rapid Response. The post leads a multidisciplinary team, delivering trusted care in the community and coordinating resources to meet changing patient needs.

You will provide expert clinical leadership, enable proactive planning and work with partners to reduce hospital admissions while supporting families in the home. Salary is pro rata with NHS Band 7 terms.

Qualifications

• RSCN or Registered Nurse Child Branch is required.
• Post-basic training evidence is expected.
• Community Children’s Nursing qualification degree level or willingness to undertake.
• ENB 998 or equivalent training is preferred.
• Independent supplementary Nurse Prescriber or willingness to work towards.
• Clinical assessment course or advanced practitioner qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and professional leadership to the Children’s Palliative Care and Rapid Response Team.
• Ensure safe, effective and high‑quality care for children and young people.
• Coordinate service delivery, staffing and resources with the Clinical Lead and Service Manager.
• Lead rapid response interventions, symptom management and end of life care.
• Develop workforce planning, recruitment, rota management and resource deployment.
• Support staff development through supervision, mentorship and training.
• Collaborate with health, social care and voluntary sector partners for integrated care.
• Monitor activity, quality and performance and drive service improvements.
