Job summary

The Children’s Rapid Response Service at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 6 Nurse/Nurse Practitioner to support complex paediatric care in the community. The role focuses on preventing admissions and delivering high-quality, family-centred care.

Qualifications

• Qualified children’s nurse with specialist training per NMC requirements.
• Experience caring for children with complex healthcare needs.
• Willingness to pursue independent prescribing where needed.
• Ability to work within community settings and home visits.
• Commitment to high standards of nursing practice and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and management for children with complex needs in home/community settings.
• Develop and implement symptom management plans and care pathways.
• Collaborate with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to optimise care.
• Prioritise workload, maintain records and ensure timely reviews.
• Lead or support teams in line with service leadership requirements.

ENB 998 (Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice) or equivalent
