Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a proactive professional to lead the delivery of a comprehensive clinical coding training programme for the Trust’s coding department and external stakeholders. The role includes planning and implementing audits to improve coding accuracy and data usefulness for managers and clinicians.

The post may also function as a Trainee Trainer and Auditor, working with clinicians and managers to enhance coding practice and audit outcomes.

Qualifications

• Accredited National Clinical Coding Qualification is required.
• Experience presenting training and workshops.
• Ability to relate to people at all levels and mentor new coders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan and deliver training courses, workshops and in-house training programmes for the clinical coding department.
• Deliver training and induction to new staff and advise on ongoing development.
• Audit completeness, timeliness and accuracy of clinical coding and report findings to management.
• Produce formal audit reports and recommendations to improve coding quality.
