Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Coding Trainer and Auditor to lead a comprehensive training programme for the Clinical Coding Department and external stakeholders, and to drive the coding audit program.

You will plan, develop and deliver training courses, mentor trainee coders, conduct audits against ICD10 and OPCS4 standards, and report findings to senior management to improve data quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training courses, workshops and sessions for the coding team and external stakeholders.
• Deliver induction and ongoing training for new staff in clinical coding and mentoring for trainees.
• Audit completeness, timeliness and accuracy of coding across the division per ICD10/OPCS4 standards.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to the Head of Clinical Coding and senior management.
• Produce formal audit reports within agreed timescales and drive quality improvements.
