Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an NHS England Approved Clinical Coding Trainer to develop and inspire future clinical coders. You will design and deliver structured training programs, update sessions, and specialty workshops, supporting coders from entry level to ACC qualification.

Collaborating with the Head of Clinical Coding, you will ensure adherence to national standards, governance, and information security while mentoring senior coders and those pursuing ACC.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering structured training programmes and refresher sessions.
• Proven ability to mentor coders from entry level to ACC qualification.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, OPCS-4 and national coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver structured internal induction programmes and specialist workshops.
• Deliver approved National Clinical Coding Standards training and provide mentorship.
• Identify learning needs with the audit team and develop SMART action plans to improve coding quality.
