Job summary

Careys are recruiting an experienced Black Hat Supervisor to join our team on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will lead hands-on groundworks, supervise a team of operatives, and coordinate with Site Managers to ensure work is delivered safely and on programme.

Required CSCS Black Card (Supervisor) and SSSTS/SMSTS, with proven civil engineering experience, ability to read drawings, and strong leadership. RAMS compliance and safety culture are essential on site.

Qualifications

• CSCS Black Card (Supervisor)
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
• Proven civil engineering and groundworks experience
• Strong knowledge of drainage, ducting, concrete and earthworks
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Experience supervising site teams while actively involved in works
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• First Aid at Work and/or NRSWA Supervisor (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands-on groundworks and civil engineering activities including drainage, ducting, foundations, concrete works and utility installations
• Supervise and coordinate a team of operatives, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to programme
• Lead daily briefings and toolbox talks, promoting a strong health and safety culture across site
• Work closely with Site Managers and Engineers to plan daily activities and resource requirements
• Monitor the quality of works and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Support the allocation of labour, plant and materials to maximise productivity
• Identify and resolve on-site issues while maintaining progress against project milestones
• Maintain site records and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures and RAMS
